7Role of Philanthropy in building a better India and World

Krishna Reddy:
According to you, what is the role of Social service and philanthropy in creating a better India?
Inna Reddy: Helping hands are always better then praying lips. We all dream of, think of a good society where all humans should get at least minimum security to lead their lives. But all of us may not have the opportunity to serve the society as a full time work. So, I believe leading a good, positive, ethical and moralistic life without exploiting other human beings is nothing but social service. Many a times people ask me “Sir, how do we and where do we start to serve society”, I always tell them “leading a healthy, moralistic and humanitarian life itself is the real social service”. So, individuals must realize that nothing is separate from us, we ourselves are the replica of the society we live in. We must change ourselves in order to change the society. Social service is serving the self and programming a perfect living. We must change the fundamental understanding and believing of the word ‘social service’ to ‘social responsibility’ according to me.

Krishna Reddy: What kind of help would you expect from the iDiya community and the world in general for Maa Illu orphanage?
Inna Reddy: iDiya community must involve in all the following things for a better world:

  1. We all must understand the sensitivity behind the orphans’ issue, by raising the issue at different places with different people and therefore we must become influential in joining all orphans in the country in numerous orphan homes like “Maa Illu”.
  2. Support the orphan rights campaign in however possible way in order to achieve constitutional fundamental rights of orphans through parliament.
  3. Governments at all levels must take up the issue of orphans and always feel responsible and by understanding the sensitivity of the issue and frame appropriate policies and make laws to empower the orphan community socially, educationally, economically and politically.
